SpitexCare - what do we do?

You can order SpitexCare, for example, for physical and mental illnesses, after accidents, for age-related complaints after childbirth or for difficulties during pregnancy.

Household or care - do you need help?

Qualified specialists look after, care for and support people of all ages at home. SpitexCare also supports and relieves caring family members and relatives.

SpitexCare services and offers

Care, help, support and assistance at home

  • Clarification of care needs

  • Advice, mentoring on offers

  • Help with hygiene and personal care

  • Help with promoting and maintaining mobility

  • (getting out of bed in the morning and going to sleep)

  • Preparation and administration of medication

  • Pain therapy / treatment

  • Treatment of wounds

  • Medical supervision such as measuring blood sugar and blood pressure etc.

  • Accompaniment of the dying

Support in the household

  • Cleaning support for the apartment

  • Help with shopping

  • Preparation of breakfast, lunch and/or dinner

  • Laundry

Provision of:

  • Meal services

  • Driving and escort services (doctor's visits, shopping)

  • Auxiliary aids (e.g. crutches, inhalation devices or wheelchairs) - for hire

Other services such as psychiatric care, cancer care or care for terminal illnesses are also provided.

Health insurance benefits?

Care services are paid for by the compulsory health insurance. This requires a Spitex prescription from a doctor.

What is not covered by health insurance?

Housekeeping assistance is not covered by basic health insurance. However, it is possible to take out supplementary insurance with many health insurance companies. Ask your health insurance company for more information. If you receive supplementary benefits, the municipality will often reimburse a portion of the expenses for housekeeping assistance.

What does the client have to pay themselves?

  • 10% of the cost of care services (health insurance deductible)

  • Annual deductible (own contribution) of the health insurance company

  • Patient contribution for care services depending on the canton - maximum amount CHF 15.95 per day)

  • The costs of home care assistance
